On November 15, 2018, the Russian Fur Union in cooperation with the Turkish Fur Industrialists and Businessmen Association (KSIAD) and with the support of the International Fur Federation hosted the final of Remix-Eurasia 2018 – an international competition for young designers of fur garments, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The competition was held in two stages, during the first stage, the jury determined the most talented and interesting sketches of young designers. This was followed by the second stage where the finished designs made from sketches were evaluated and the winners of the competition were determined.
The competition jury was represented by Sergey Stolbov – Chairman of the IFF-Eurasia Board and Chairman of the jury, Sergey Efremov – designer of the Fashion House “Sergey Efremov”, Oksana Moroz – NAFA Marketing Director for Eastern Europe, Malin Lindqvist – furrier and designer of the creative studio Kopenhagen Fur, Dmitry Larionov – Business Manager, Eastern Europe, Sagafurs auction, Elena Esina – head of furrier laboratory and an expert in the quality of fur products. Institute of Fur Industry, Mustafa Senojak – President of the Union of Exporters of Turkey and Mehmet Koymen – a Turkish designer.
Remix-Eurasia 2018 first place went to Julia Yukhnovich from Belarus who won an internship in the design studio at NAFA based in Canada.
Second place was awarded to Huseyin Ozer from Turkey who won an internship in the design studio Saga Furs in Finland.
Third place was given to Oksana Balan from the Ukraine who was awarded an internship in the design studio Kopenhagen Furs.
The Audience Award, a special prize from Sojuzpushnina, went to Altyn Serikbayeva from Kazakhstan.
More than 400 guests attended the Remix-Eurasia 2018 Final and Fur Gala show. Among them were representatives of the Government of Turkey, the media and the business elite. Fur Fashion Houses “Sergey Efremov” (from Russia), “Punto” (Turkey), “Kursan” (Turkey), “GNL” (Belarus) also showcased their latest collections on a catwalk during the event.
The Russian Fur Union thanks Fur Ekaterina, Fashion House Alexander Petrov, Fashion House Zima, and GNL for their assistance in tailoring all fur garments for the contest finalists. Special thanks also given to international fur auctions: Sojuzpushnina, NAFA, SAGA Furs and Kopenhagen Fur for supporting the Remix-Eurasia 2018 competition.
