Fur: Milan Fashion Week
As Milan Fashion Week comes to an end, we have a round up of some of our favourite designs. Collections varied from military themes to urban themes and to the more elegant and classy. Milan has showed us some great garments, a lot of which used fur in innovative ways.
Ermanno Scervino
The Ermanno Scervino collection took a new turn this year with its masculine elements, resulting in a modern and sleek feel. Military style coats were embellished with fur and colour was used to embrace the more feminine side. The luxe factor was paramount, coming through both in the choice of fabrics and the execution of the garments.
Versace
The mood for the Versace collection was an upbeat and celebratory one. The collection seeped with an array of powder blues, soft pinks and greens alongside navy and black. Playful and sporty ruled the runway giving the collection an overall bold and urban look.
John Richmond
From greys to beiges to a variety of metallic shades, the John Richmond collection was dominated by futurism-meets-art deco. A collection fit for the dark rock princesses that Richmond rejoices commonly in his women’s line. Fur featured in a more classic way in this collection, creating a somewhat elegant appeal.
DSquared2
The Dsquared2 collection invited the clash of cultures. We saw the Victorian meets samurai, with a spotlight on the military theme. Camouflage patterns, cropped admiral jackets and samurai motivated furs cuts were a hit in the collection.
