Kastoria Summer School Participant 2017
About myself:
I am Anna Sofie and I am trained as a textile designer with a MA degree from Design School Kolding in Denmark. I am a very open minded and visual person, who appreciates the aesthetics in every choice I make.
In my daily work I am very curious, building new knowledge and skills in my professional career. I believe in cross-disciplinary organisational collaboration, where competencies meet each other. During my studies I learned to work with different design methods in my creative process. I can manage the design process from the beginning to the very end – From collecting – to comprehend – to conceptualise – to create.
I enjoy creating highly artistic and high end materials, but I am also trained in creating garments for commercial use.
When I work as a designer it is very important that I am able to create products that are in faith to my clients design DNA whilst at the same time integral with my own design DNA.
What was your inspiration to go into fashion?
I am fascinated by nature and the materials it provides us, like fur and leather.
When I create and develop materials and garments I care about tactility, colours and quality. My strengths as a textile designer are to develop concepts, create techniques with different materials and with the use of different types of media to be able to build up a balanced collection in the end.
I enjoy creating highly artistic and high end materials, but I am also trained in creating garments for commercial use.
