Jonathon Akeroyd is departing from Mcqueen – where he worked for 12 years, was revealed earlier this month when it was announced that he would be succeeded by Emmanuel Gintzburger, former retail and wholesale director at Yves Saint Laurent.
“Jonathan brings a proven track record in building global brands, steering growth and driving strategic development. Jonathan Akeroyd’s industry expertise and vision will be key to advancing the next phase of Versace’s development,” said Donatella Versace, vice president and artistic director of Versace, in a statement.
It is not yet known whether Jonathon Akeroyd will relocate to Milan to take up the role but in response to his appointment Akeroyd said, “It is an honour to be joining such a dynamic and innovative organisation.” He went on to say, “Versace is an iconic lifestyle brand recognised globally as a premier name in luxury. I look forward to implementing a long-term business strategy that supports the visionary and creative direction of Donatella Versace and her team.”
