Fur in London Fashion Week
The last few days of London Fashion Week showed us an array of designs, varying from the more sophisticated to the more playful. Designers have incorporated fur into their collections, using different techniques and materials to create exciting pieces.
AF Vandervorst
The AF Vandervorst collection is one that never fails to surprise and this year they presented one of the most unpredictable and quirky designs on the catwalk. The use of edgy accessories and the eccentric portrayal of the models created an unconventional ambience. Models had their faces wrapped in belts while others had red makeup splattered around their eyes. The diverse use of materials, the colour choices and different textures of this collection all came together flawlessly.
Roksanda Ilincic
The Roksanda Ilinic collection took a different turn his year with darker colour combinations being used, creating an edgier appeal. A more streamlined silhouette was on offer. The collection comprised gentle flares and peplum frills, but the styling took the drama down a notch.
Amanda Wakeley
The Amanda Wakeley collection was elegant to say the least, with darker colour tones the sense of sophistication was amped up and the Sauvé feel of the garments poured through the catwalk. There was a cool, strong glamour to this collection, filled with silks, satin, fur and ultra soft leather which were all worked into clean, simple silhouettes.
Marques Almeida
The Marques Almeida collection gave us a 1990s vibe; the clothes worn for the show were an eclectic mix. There was a mix of vibrant colours, awkward lengths and diverse materials all of which came together to create a playful collection.
